VBS This Summer: July 30 - August 3, 2018
Get ready for the wildest and wettest ride in the wilderness with “Rolling River Rampage - Experience the Ride of a Lifetime with God” at this year’s VBS. A focus on what you can “find on the river,” reminds us of the tree planted by streams of water in Jeremiah 17:8. When the river you’re planted by is God, you find adventure, acceptance, joy, rest, and peace.
The children will join a cute river otter named Romper and discover the Bible points each day through music, crafts, games and Bible story time.
The beauty and adventure of a rushing mountain river is the perfect metaphor for a life lived following Jesus. The daily Bible stories and “rapid reminders” point kids to Jesus as they try to find a variety of great things on the river. On Day 1, kids are reminded to find adventure on the river like Jesus’ disciples did when they decided to follow him. Day 2 tells the story of Martha and Mary, and helps kids know that they can find acceptance. The story of Jesus welcoming Zacchaeus helps kids find joy on the river on Day 3. On Day 4, the Last Supper illustrates the rest kids can find on the river. Finally, Day 5 focuses on Jesus’ promise that he is with us to show that we can find peace on the river. Adventure, Acceptance, Joy, Rest, and Peace!
All children 4 years old (entering kindergarten in 2019) through 5th grade are invited to join the exciting river ride. Students in 6-12 grade can be “Crew Leaders” or small group teaching assistants. Adult helpers are needed for decorations, set up, assistant section leaders for crafts, Bible story and games, nursery caregivers, and much more.
Please join us at VBS this year! Bring your family, friends, and neighbors and every day will deepen your faith, ridin’ the rapids of amazing grace.
